Undergraduate Research Bursaries at NUI Maynooth

Summer 2010

Applications are now invited from outstanding undergraduate students entering their final year of studies to undertake a 12-week Research project in either the Departments of Biology or Chemistry at the National University of Ireland, Maynooth. Maynooth is located 25 km west of Dublin, Ireland.

Fourteen positions are available and each successful candidate will receive a bursary of €300 per week. Financial assistance is also available to overseas students (€300 EU and €800 non-EU) for travel to Ireland. Successful candidates will also participate in events covering a wide-range of related topics (e.g., intellectual property, presentation and scientific writing skills, company visits and career seminars) and a full social programme is in place.

Over 50% of participants are likely to come from outside the host institution, so applications are particularly welcome from non-NUI Maynooth and overseas students. High quality accommodation is available.

The deadline for receipt of completed applications, including a one-page personal statement outlining why you wish to participate in the programme, and your top 3 project choices, is Friday 12 March 2010 and the programme commences on Tuesday 8 June 2010. We look forward to hearing from you!
